Self-service security verification and the Xiaobing inquiry robot at Harbin Taiping

Harbin Taiping · TravelSky

Self-service verification gates went into use at Harbin Taiping's security checkpoint on 1 April 2020. Capital Airports Holding said the four gates take six to eight seconds per passenger.

More followed in May 2021. Four smart lanes opened in the B1 area of Terminal 2, using face recognition, with RFID tags tying each passenger's hand baggage to their biometric record, and peak throughput rose from about 120 to about 220 passengers an hour, more than 80%, The Paper reported on 2 May 2021.

Then there is Xiaobing. CRI Online described the inquiry robot on 14 October 2019 as TravelSky Mobile Technology's latest AI product, able to answer flight-status questions and understand the Northeastern dialect.
