Sapsan AI passport-control e-gates with Smart Engines at Vnukovo

Moscow Vnukovo International Airport · Smart Engines

Vnukovo launched its Sapsan automated passport-control system on 17 July 2025, RIA Novosti reported. It serves adult Russian citizens holding series-75 or later biometric passports.

The modules run AI from Smart Engines, according to ComNews on 24 July 2025, and its Sherlock software checks for more than 600 signs of forgery.

Before the launch, the airport's release of 1 April 2025, carried by AK&M, set out a plan for ten modules in Terminal A, five for departures and five for arrivals.

Profile data from the Aerostack companies register; deployment records from the verified register. Evidence grades: T1 first-party confirmation, T2 credible reporting. See Our approach for how records are graded.

Aerostack tracks AI deployments across airports and airlines, with the published evidence behind each record. Photography is real aviation imagery. Record thumbnails may show the named airport or airline; other photographs do not.
