Volocopter

Urban Air Mobility

Volocopter, of Bruchsal, Germany, develops electric air taxis and VoloIQ, a digital platform for running urban air mobility operations. Diamond Aircraft bought its assets after its insolvency in late 2024.

Founded in 2011, it now operates as Volocopter Technologies with about 160 to 185 of its former 500 staff, after Wanfeng Auto's Diamond Aircraft paid about 10 million euros in March 2025. VoloIQ, built with Lufthansa Industry Solutions on Microsoft Azure, handles fleet service, predictive maintenance and mission planning. The VoloCity air taxi awaits EASA certification.

No verified deployments yet

Volocopter is profiled in the companies register, but no deployment has been verified against published evidence. Records are added as evidence is reviewed and graded.

Profile data from the Aerostack companies register; deployment records from the verified register. Evidence grades: T1 first-party confirmation, T2 credible reporting. See Our approach for how records are graded.

Aerostack tracks AI deployments across airports and airlines, with the published evidence behind each record. Photography is real aviation imagery. Record thumbnails may show the named airport or airline; other photographs do not.
