Jetpack
Jetpack, a Brussels data and AI company, builds forecasting and capacity-planning tools for airports. Brussels Airport owns 80 per cent of it.
Founded in 2017 with 11 to 50 staff, it was majority-acquired in 2022 but remains independent. Its Polaris tool helps airports plan staffing and infrastructure, and its demand and capacity balancing tool models queues at check-in and security. The register holds no named, dated deployment.
No verified deployments yet
Jetpack is profiled in the companies register, but no deployment has been verified against published evidence. Records are added as evidence is reviewed and graded.
Products & Solutions
2 productsPolaris
An AI-powered forecasting and decision-support software platform designed specifically for airports. Polaris enables airport operators to optimize planning and operations through advanced flight scheduling analysis, accurate passenger flow forecasting, and scenario planning tools for budgeting and capacity management.
Airport operators face complexity in planning staffing, infrastructure, and resource allocation across fluctuating demand. Static or rule-based approaches cannot accurately anticipate passenger flows or model budgeting scenarios.
- Advanced flight scheduling analysis
- Passenger flow forecasting using machine learning
- Scenario planning tools for budgeting and capacity management
- Infrastructure utilization optimization
1 more feature
- Day-to-day airport management decision support
Technical specifications (2)
- Machine learning and advanced analytics applied to large-scale operational airport data
- Integration with airport operational data sources
Demand and Capacity Balancing Tool
A simulation-based demand and capacity planning tool built for Brussels Airport to optimize resource planning for check-in equipment (counters, kiosks, bag tags, bag drops) and security screening. Uses multi-agent models to simulate passenger arrivals, queuing, and desk processing, capturing real-world behavioral variation.
Queue length and wait time dynamics at airport check-in and security screening are complex and cannot be adequately modeled with simple heuristics. Planners need simulation tools to evaluate resource allocation decisions before implementation.
- Multi-agent simulation of passenger arrivals, queuing, and processing at check-in desks
- Configurable parameters for desk allocation scenarios
- Web-based application for simulation parameterization and result visualization
- Queue length and waiting time output throughout the day
Technical specifications (6)
- Simulation engine built in Python packages using Docker, stored on AWS Elastic Container Registry (ECR)
- Simulation engine executed on demand via AWS Lambda
- Outputs written to PostgreSQL database hosted on Amazon RDS (Aurora)
- API built using Node.js and serverless, hosted on API Gateway and AWS Lambda
- Front-end web application built in ReactJS with d3.js and Observable Plot visualizations
- Application hosted on AWS S3 and served via AWS CloudFront
