Dedrone
Dedrone, a San Francisco company owned by Axon since 2024, detects and tracks unauthorised drones around airports, prisons and other protected sites.
Founded in 2014 with 201 to 500 staff, it fuses radio-frequency sensors, radar and cameras in DedroneTracker.AI, using machine learning to tell drones from birds and a signature library to identify about 300 drone models. It can also locate the pilot and connect to jamming and other mitigation systems where they are permitted. No named airport deployment is recorded.
No verified deployments yet
Dedrone is profiled in the companies register, but no deployment has been verified against published evidence. Records are added as evidence is reviewed and graded.
Products & Solutions
4 productsDedroneTracker.AI
AI/ML-powered command and control (C2) software platform that serves as the core of Dedrone's end-to-end counter-drone solution. Ingests data from multiple sensor types (RF, radar, video, acoustics) and fuses them into a single pane of glass interface.
Enables security teams at airports, critical infrastructure, government, and military sites to detect, track, identify, and mitigate unauthorized drone threats with minimal operator workload. Addresses the challenge of managing complex multi-sensor counter-UAS systems through a unified, AI-driven interface that autonomously interrogates threats and prioritizes responses, reducing false positives and enabling a single operator to monitor large protected areas.

DedroneSensor
Brand name for Dedrone's family of passive radio frequency (RF) hardware sensors used for drone detection, classification, and geolocation. DedroneSensors receive and analyze RF signals to detect drones and their remote controls, identify drone manufacturer and model, and determine approximate location of both drone and pilot.
Provides the passive RF sensing hardware layer for airspace security deployments. Allows sites including airports to detect drone presence and pilot location without interfering with airport communication channels or requiring active transmission. Enables the baseline risk assessment step recommended by Dedrone for airport deployments before building out multi-sensor solutions.
- Passive RF detection, does not emit signals or interfere with airport communications
- Detects and classifies commercial, consumer, hobbyist, and home-built drones
- Classifies drones by manufacturer and model using DroneDNA signature library
- Covers 600+ drone models from 150+ manufacturers (including entire DJI product line)
6 more features
- Direction finding (bearing to drone and pilot)
- Geolocation of drone and pilot (with multiple sensors)
- Connects to DedroneTracker.AI software via LAN
- Firmware and DroneDNA library updated remotely
- Multiple form factors for different environments (standard, ruggedized, vehicle-mount, portable)
- PoE+ powered (single cable installation)
Technical specifications (6)
- RF-160 model: Average detection range 1.6 km; up to 5 km under ideal conditions; integrates LTE for connectivity to Dedrone Cloud; high-performance processor; no on-premise server required
