Eurowings lets customers book package holidays by chatting with AI
Eurowings Holidays launched Holly in February 2024, a ChatGPT-based assistant built by the Hamburg company Honeepot that recommends and books complete package holidays. It is the Lufthansa Group airline's only documented AI deployment. No usage or sales figures have been published.

Package holidays are hard to search: thousands of combinations of flight, hotel and extras, filtered by preferences that do not fit drop-down menus. Eurowings Holidays, the airline's tour operating business, launched Holly to take those preferences in plain language.
Holly was developed by Honeepot and is described as built on ChatGPT. The Lufthansa Group's innovation pages list it as in operation since February 2024.

Holly matches preferences to package holidays
The operational problem
Many travellers find choosing a holiday time-consuming, as Eurowings chief executive Jens Bischoff said at the launch, because the options are vast and the search filters are crude.
What the evidence reports
Eurowings said on 14 February 2024 that Holly matches a customer's stated preferences, including food, sport, excursions and physical limitations, against billions of flight and hotel combinations, draws on hotel reviews and extras such as excursions and car hire, and lets customers book the complete package. Frankfurt Flyer reported that the assistant is built on ChatGPT and that Honeepot says customer data is not shared.
Operational significance
Holly sells as well as answers, so its value can be measured directly in bookings.
Evidence still needed
Eurowings has published no usage, conversion or booking figures, and the sources do not say which languages Holly supports or how its recommendations are checked.
Other records are shown separately, including non-AI technology and programmes at different stages of deployment. A register entry does not establish a measured AI benefit.
No other publicly listed records.
Editorial assessment
Eurowings' documented AI is a sales tool on the holiday side of the business, outside the airline's flight operation.
Bookings made through Holly, compared with those made through the standard search, would show whether conversation sells holidays better than filters.
