Tan Son Nhat: a new terminal described as smart, with few AI specifics

Tan Son Nhat's Terminal 3 opened with biometric services and AI claims in 2025. Public reporting establishes the new terminal, but not individual AI applications and outcomes in sufficient detail.

New terminal technology under a broad label

Opening a terminal creates a chance to introduce new passenger-processing systems together. Tan Son Nhat's Terminal 3 was described as a smart facility when it opened in April 2025.

Vietnamese reporting links VNeID biometric identity processes and AI to the terminal. That confirms the public description, but the underlying sources do not identify a precise AI model or operational decision that can be independently assessed.

Identity checks should not be taken as proof of a broader AI operations platform. The page therefore needs to set limits rather than borrow credibility from the size of the terminal project.

The operational problem

A new terminal must process passengers predictably while introducing new check-in and identity technology.

What the sources report

Vietnamese and provincial sources reported Tan Son Nhat Terminal 3 opening in April 2025, describing a smart airport with VNeID biometrics and AI.

Why it matters

The new passenger processes are an important airport implementation, though the AI contribution requires narrower evidence.

What remains unproven

AI-specific functions, independent matching metrics and any attributable processing improvement are not established.

The record covers the Terminal 3 programme; its named technologies should not be split into invented independent deployments.

A new terminal is not a measured AI result

Tan Son Nhat has a substantial passenger-processing development to track.

The next editorial milestone is a named AI use with a clear operating role and independently supported outcome.
