Automated border control e-gates at Budapest and Debrecen
In 2019, 12 automated border control e-gates were installed at Budapest and 2 at Debrecen, using the Combo Smart Kiosk e-passport reader. A four-gate unit could process 24 people a minute, according to an Adaptive Recognition case study of 13 December 2024.
In May 2024 Budapest Airport said it could test FaceBoarding-type facial recognition, Hungary Today reported on 22 May 2024.
A reported implementation is not automatically an independently measured AI result.
Editorial assessment
The published records establish the scope of reported activity, subject to the evidence attached to each one. An AI-specific operating result must be demonstrated rather than inferred from a scanner, camera, biometric gate or supplier announcement.
