The picture at San Juan Luis Muñoz Marín
The sequence of airport decisions
A traveller leaving Puerto Rico on an international flight encounters different agencies from someone arriving through customs.
CBP announced biometric exit with Copa Airlines in January 2021 and Simplified Arrival in March of that year. United States Customs and Border Protection manages a distinct legal identity process at entry and exit, whereas CLEAR's expedited-lane membership operates under another model, with different eligibility and data responsibilities.
The source chronology gives meaningful operating dates, but national usage totals are not San Juan performance measures. The government programmes have separate rules and purposes.

What the sources report
CBP and airport operator Aerostar confirmed facial comparison for international arrivals at San Juan in March 2021.
Why it matters
The government sources define ownership and implementation purpose more clearly than general airport 'AI' messaging.
What remains unprovenAirport-specific false-match, processing and passenger acceptance figures are not supplied.
