Manchester Airports Group chose MultiSensor AI to monitor the condition of Manchester Airport's baggage handling and inspection systems, the vendor announced on 18 December 2025. The deployment combines handheld thermal inspection with fixed monitoring, looking for thermal anomalies and early signs of wear during live operation instead of relying only on scheduled inspections.
Joe Marquis, senior engineering manager at Manchester Airport, is quoted in the release saying the airport selected MultiSensor AI to strengthen the reliability of its baggage handling systems. MultiSensor AI expected the work to be complete in the first quarter of 2026, and its full-year 2025 results, published on 19 March 2026, stated that initial deployments at Manchester Airport were completed in that quarter.
Both statements come from the vendor. Manchester has not published reliability figures, fault counts or a contract value, and the next phase after the initial deployments has not been described.
