GDRFA Dubai

The General Directorate of Identity and Foreigners Affairs in Dubai (GDRFA) runs the Red Carpet corridor at Dubai International, which lets eligible travellers clear immigration without stopping or showing documents. GDRFA describes it as a digital system powered by artificial intelligence and biometric technologies. The face recognition comes from Paravision, which said in January 2026 that its software runs on emaratech infrastructure under GDRFA's operational control and handles travellers in motion and at varying angles.
GDRFA says that by the end of April 2026 nearly 800,000 people had used the service, with 83% adoption among eligible travellers. It reports crossing time cut from 12.5 seconds to 3.4 seconds and up to 10 travellers processed at once. Gulf News reported on 8 September 2026 that 745,188 travellers used it in the first eight months of 2026.
The arrivals hall opened to UAE nationals in October 2025 and to residents in March 2026, and GDRFA says a second phase with new corridors is under study as part of Terminal 3 development. All figures come from GDRFA or press reports of its data, and the GDRFA page carries no date.
