Milan Bergamo runs about 700 cameras, and its perimeter fence is monitored with AI and machine-learning tools, according to SACBO's Sustainability Report 2022. Dexon Systems, which acted as control-room integrator, described the work in a case study published on 16 January 2023.
A newer project, AVIO, adds a computer-vision module that is being trialled on three sample stands, L'Eco di Bergamo reported on 4 March 2026. Partners are TXT e-tech, Sorint.tek and the University of Pavia, with high-performance computing from Hewlett Packard Enterprise, and the project is co-funded by Italy's Ministry of Enterprises and Made in Italy through the complementary fund to the national recovery plan. SACBO has not published detection-performance figures for the perimeter system, and the camera count dates from 2022.
