Etihad AI safety-management platform developed with MBZUAI
Deployed
Etihad Airways said on 13 December 2023 that it had become one of the first airlines to use AI to enhance safety management systems, a claim that is the airline's own. Under the bonnet are Google BERT, Microsoft Azure and TF-IDF text analysis, which the airline uses to analyse flight reports, maintenance and training data.
The work grew out of a memorandum of understanding signed in July 2023 with the Mohamed bin Zayed University of Artificial Intelligence.
Through its Bedayati programme, Etihad said, the partnership has also trained five interns and eight Emirati graduates.
