Nigeria approved VPASS facial-recognition passenger verification for domestic flights at Abuja, Lagos, Kano, Port Harcourt and Enugu.

Aviation minister Festus Keyamo signed a concession with Verxid on 9 April 2026, according to the Federal Ministry of Information and IDTechWire.

FAAN said a proof of concept and sensitisation campaign would come before rollout, the Guardian Nigeria reported on 16 July 2026.
