Virgin Australia became the first Australian airline to launch a collaboration with OpenAI, the airline announced on 28 November 2025, calling it a landmark deal. It is exploring a Virgin Australia app inside ChatGPT, built with the Apps SDK, and giving staff enterprise AI tools.
The same release said the airline had recently launched an AI Trip Planner and uses AI-driven insights to forecast demand and set dynamic fares.
