Delta AWS preferred-cloud migration and planned Amazon Leo connectivity

Other · Supplier: Amazon Web Services

Current reported state

Deployed · limited scope

Delta said on 31 March 2026 that it had migrated nearly 600 of its applications to Amazon Web Services, its preferred cloud provider. That migration was the part of this record in use.

In the same announcement Delta and Amazon set out a long-term collaboration. Delta planned to install Amazon Leo low-Earth-orbit satellite connectivity on an initial 500 aircraft beginning in 2028, and the two companies said they planned "to partner to integrate AWS, Amazon Leo, other Amazon technologies and AI" across the travel journey.

The Leo installations were not due to start until 2028, and the AI integration was a stated plan with no named product. Neither is treated here as deployed.
